It was a sunny afternoon, and the 5th-grade class was at the school picnic. The kids were excited, as excited as a kid on Christmas, to enjoy the ice cream truck that had just arrived. Mia grabbed her cone, and it was as sweet as ice cream on a hot day. Her friends gathered around, laughing as loud as a marching band, and everyone was as bouncy as a trampoline while waiting in line.
As they sat down to eat, Sarah noticed a small problem. “Oh no! My cone is melting faster than I can eat it!” she said, looking worried. It was like ice cream in the sun, disappearing before she could finish. Mia laughed and said, “It’s all right, just enjoy it while it lasts, like ice cream for breakfast.”
After a while, the teacher brought out extra toppings for everyone. It was the cherry on top of an already fun day. Then, to add to the excitement, they had a game of relay races. The kids were as fast as lightning, running around with joy.
But then, as the picnic came to an end, Mia realized that the ice cream truck was about to leave. “What a day,” she thought, smiling, “it was like ice cream for the soul.”
